A Fond Farewell to Barbetta

Following the passing of Ms. Laura Maioglio, Barbetta concluded its remarkable 120-year journey, with its final day of service on February 27, 2026.

For more than sixty years, Laura’s vision shaped this beloved restaurant, creating a place where guests gathered in a spirit of warmth, tradition, and hospitality. Her legacy lives on through the memories shared within these walls.

Thank you to all who were part of Barbetta’s story.

Barbetta specialized in Piemonte cuisine, featuring classics such as house-made agnolotti, risotto with white truffle, slow-roasted Piemontese rabbit, and polenta. The restaurant also featured an extensive wine program, with more than 1,700 selections, primarily Italian, alongside a curated collection of American wines. Its list was recognized with the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.

The landmark brownstone was home to an elegant dining room, expansive garden patio, and upper-level private dining rooms suited for gatherings both large and small.
